分類に関するメモ：Stegenga (1985) は，Rhodochorton densumをAcrochaetium catenulatumの異名同種（シノニム）としました。Noda & Konno (1981) は，新潟県佐渡島と粟島から"A. arcuatum"を報告しましたが，これはNakamura (1944) が報告したR. densum (= A. densum) に相当すると考えられ，Abbott & Hollenberg (1976) が，A. densumをA. arcuatumの異名としたことを受けたものと考えられます。現在，A. arcuatumは独立した種として扱われています。本サイトでは，Noda & Konno (1981)が報告した"A. arcuatum"をA. catenulatumの異名として扱いました。
